In many offices at ESF, you need to provide your networked device's MAC address (also known as a Physical Address) before we can get your ESF Campus Network connection to work properly. The MAC address identifies your device on the network and no two devices will have the same MAC address.  If you have a laptop, please ensure that it is plugged into wall power with the AC adapter BEFORE attempting to get your mac address.

To find your MAC address on a Windows XP PC, do the following:

bulletClick Start and choose 'Run.'
bulletType CMD on the 'Open:' line and click OK.
bulletWhen the Windows Command Prompt appears, type: IPCONFIG /all
bulletPress the Enter key.
bulletIn the section of the resulting output labeled "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:," find the line labeled Physical Address and note the information presented there. The Physical address has the following general format: xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx. and example Physical Address is as follows: 01-14-22-DC-B0-44.

NOTE: Please do not provide the Physical address from the "Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:" section of the output described above unless specifically asked to do so. This address will not work on a wired connection to the ESF Campus Network.
