Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) on the ESF Campus:

NEW NOTE: A patch for the ESF version of Norton Antivirus to make it compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 2 will not be available until the end of January 2005. Given this, CNS advises caution when installing SP2 and has provided a method to install SP2 along with a new version of Symantec Antivirus that is fully compatible with the update.

Main Service Pack 2 Issues on the ESF Campus:

  1. Partial incompatibility with Campus antivirus software: Status is misreported, updates are blocked by default, and client settings can not be managed.
  2. Partial incompatibility with Campus Web-based systems (registrar's system, etc.): Logon screens are blocked by default.
