FAQ
Common
Problems/Questions:
-
Q: “What are my ESF NetID and ESF
Password?”
A: Your ESF NetID (User name)
is the same as your SU NetID. It is what you use to access
OrangeMail, MySlice, or AirOrange, and is also the prefix of your SU
email address (the part before the ‘@’ symbol). Your password is the
password that you use to access your ESF records from the Student
Services Portal Web site:
https://wwwinfo.esf.edu/student/.
-
Q: “I have never checked my Student
Records or set my ESF Password. What is my password?”
A: If you have never checked
your records at the Student Services Portal Web site, then your
password has not yet been set and a default password has been
assigned to you. Your default password is 8 digits long. The first 4
digits are the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN).
The next 2 digits are the month that you were born, and the last 2
digits are the day of the month that you were born. If a student was
born on April 1 and has a SSN of 123-45-6789, then their default
password is: 67890401. The first time you use the default password
on the above Web site, you are forced to change it. The password
that you set after logging-on with your default password is the one
that you will use to log on to systems at ESF such as the Evergreen
Wireless Network. The change takes place 10 -15 minutes after you
set your password on the Student Service Portal Web site.
-
Q: “My ‘account’ is ‘locked out.’
What do I do?”
A: If you use the wrong
password 3 or more times, your access to the CMWPE Domain may be
‘locked out’ and you will be unable to gain access to the system. If
this happens, you can wait 30 minutes for access to be automatically
unlocked or you can visit the Moon Library HelpDesk and ask
that your access be unlocked. CMWPE Students can visit their
department office in 153 Baker to be unlocked in addition to the
above.
-
Q: “How do I change my ESF
Password
when I already know it?”
A: You can change your
password at any time by going to the Student Services Portal Web
site (https://wwwinfo.esf.edu/student/),
log on as if you are going to check your information, and click on
the ‘Change Password’ link. NOTE: You will have to wait up to
15 minutes after changing your password before you will be able to
log on to most ESF Campus Network services with the new password.
- Q: “I forgot
my password. What do I do?”
A: If you forget you
ESF password, you can: visit the Registrar’s office and have it
reset to the default password mentioned above, 2) you can visit the
Moon Library HelpDesk (Evergreen/myESF HelpDesk) and have it changed to
something you can remember, or 3) if you are a CMWPE student, you can visit
you department office in 153 Baker and have it changed to something you can
remember. A method for resetting the ESF password yourself (when you
do not know what it is already) will be
forthcoming.
- Q: "I am an SU
student taking classes at ESF. What is my default password?"
A: SU students taking classes at ESF have a default password
set as follows: The last 4 digits of their Social Security Number
followed by '0101.' For example, if a student in this category has
an SSN of 123456789, their default ESF password will be 67890101.
