  Standard

 

Following are the minimum requirements for connecting a device to the ESF Campus Network.

 

Operating system:

 

Windows: Windows 2000 with service Pack 4, Windows XP with Service Pack 3, or Windows Vista with Service Pack 1. All should include the latest critical security updates as obtained from Windows Update.

Mac OS: OS X 10.4.11 or the latest update level to OS X 10.5.

 

Antivirus:

 

Windows: Symantec End Point Protection version 11.0 (preferred; supplied by ESF)

Mac OS: Symantec Antivirus for Macintosh version 10.2 (preferred; supplied by ESF)

 

Other supported Antivirus packages.

 

Antispyware:

 

Windows: Symantec End Point Protection version 11.0 (preferred; supplied by ESF)

Mac OS: None required

 

Other supported Antispyware packages.

 

  Virus Protection at ESF:

 

For all PCs that connect to the ESF Campus Network  

Click here to install the latest Campus version of Symantec Endpoint Protection MR4 (Symantec Antivirus 11). Advantages of using this version are:

  1. It is free to users of PCs that connect to the ESF Campus (Both State and personally owned).
  2. It is automatically updated to assure that you are always protected.
  3. It includes protection against general network threats, Spyware, and Intrusion.

Note: This is version 11.0 (Maintenance Release 4) of Symantec Antivirus. Please click here to learn about upgrading to this new version from the previous ESF Campus versions 9.0/7.6.

 

The gold shield with the green dot means you are protected. If you do not see the green dot, and are connected to the Campus Network, you may need to reinstall the software.
