PC Purchasing
Institutional Purchases
To purchase PC equipment at the best price available to the
College through normal college purchasing procedures (both State and
Research Foundation), do one of the following:
- Use the link for Personal Home Purchases below, determine
what configuration you want, print this configuration
information and bring it to 317 Baker Hall or email the
information to
helpdesk@esf.edu. We can then
obtain the best institutional price for your selected
configuration directly from Dell. These prices are usually 10 to
15% less than the Personal Home Purchase price.

- Contact Computing and Network
Services with a description of the PC you wish to purchase
and we will determine a configuration and obtain an
institutional price from Dell.
New pricing on various system types from Dell and HP has recently
become available to SUNY Campuses. Pricing through this agreement
is extremely competitive, but models and options are limited.

and submit/reference this information with your purchase
request. Please contact CNS if you need assistance.
Sometimes it is possible to obtain a better deal
through Dell's main consumer Web site.
If you find that this is the case for your situation, give us the
details and we will attempt to have the deal honored as an
institutional purchase. Note that not all consumer products or deals
(in print or via the Web) are available for purchase through the
State/SUNY purchasing agreement or process.
Personal Home Purchases
ESF Employees and students can purchase Dell equipment at a

required at the time of purchase.

Student Personal Purchases through the SU Book store
ESF students may purchase Dell PCs through the SU book store
(not ESF) at a
substantial discount (even over and above the Institutional and
Personal purchase deals presented above). Information on available
