 | Before beginning the installation
process, be sure to first remove any old antivirus software and
restart your computer. This includes old versions of Norton
Antivirus (retail and Corporate Editions), MacAfee, etc.
Here is a brief description of how to uninstall a program.
NOTE: If prompted for a password when removing the
Campus version of Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition (replaced by
Symantec AntiVirus 9), use the word 'symantec' (without quotes and in
all lower case letters).

| Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition (version 7.61) is no
longer supported and updates to this version will
not be automatically installed after February 14, 2008. If
you are using Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition 7.61, you
must
remove it and install one of the newer versions that best fits your
PC hardware and Windows version. To determine your current
Antivirus version if you are using software provided by ESF,
double-click on the gold shield near the clock in the lower
right-hand corner of your screen.
Version information will be available
near the middle of the resulting window.

| Windows 98 users MUST
install a Windows Update prior
to attempting to install Symantec Antivirus version 9.
Click here to obtain
this update. When prompted, select 'Open' or 'Run' and allow the
update to install. No reboot is required after installation.

| Log in to your computer
with administrative privileges (for users of Windows NT, 2000, XP,
and Vista). If you are uncertain if you have administrative rights, please
contact us and we will help you determine this.

| Close all
running programs except Internet Explorer (version 5.01 SP2 or higher).
A Browser is only required during the installation of Symantec
Antivirus 9.

| Symantec Antivirus 9 installation Browser
Requirement: To our knowledge, Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2 or
higher are the only supported browsers that can be used to
install Symantec Antivirus 9. Please
check that you are reading this message from Internet explorer and
not Netscape before proceeding. Any browser should work when
installing Symantec Endpoint
Protection (Symantec Antivirus 11).

| Please disable all download managers, including such programs as
GetRight and Netscape SmartDownload, before attempting this process.
|
| You will need a
minimum of 100 MB free space on your hard drive to install Symantec
Antivirus 9 (Windows 98, Me, NT) and 180 MB free space (plus an
additional 440 MB during installation) to install Symantec Endpoint
Protection (Symantec Antivirus 11)

| This
installation and all subsequent updates only work from the ESF
campus in Syracuse.

| Web Pop-up blockers (such as the one included with Windows XP
Service Pack 2) will
block the installation of Symantec Antivirus 9.
Please disable all Pop-up blockers before proceeding with the
installation.
